Joe Martinez was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. Mr. Martinez received his Bachelor of Music Education from Texas A&I University in Kingsville where he was a member of the Kappa Kappa Psi music fraternity and played with the university’s Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Dixieland Band and Mariachi Javelina.
Prior to teaching in Brownsville, Mr. Martinez has taught at the high school level in several Texas cities. While primarily working with high school students in those districts, he was also assigned to teach at the middle school level. In 2003, while directing the Cigarroa H.S. Concert Band in Laredo TX., Mr. Martinez and his band earned the 1st UIL Sweepstakes Award in their history, the school was established in 1983. In 2008, he was honored by being the first band director since the 1993-1994 school year to earn a UIL SWEEPSTAKES Trophy with the Perkins Symphonic Band.
Mr. Martinez has served as the TMEA (Texas Music Educator’s Association) Region 28 Middle School Band Division Coordinator and has served as a clinician and judge at various music events which include; judging for UIL Sightreading and UIL Solo and Ensemble. He has also been a clinician for the Region 14 All-Region Mariachi and served as the Mariachi Division Chairman for Region 14.

Tiffany Nichole Reyes was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas and a graduate from Rivera High School, where she was a member of the Rivera Raider Band, under the direction of Rolando Zapata. Mrs. Reyes received her Bachelor of Music Education degree From the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where she studied clarinet under Dr. Jonathan Guist. While at UTRGV she was a member of the UTRGV wind symphony, UTRGV Symphony Orchestra, and UTRGV Clarinet Choir. Mrs. Reyes is currently working as the woodwind teacher and assistant band director at Perkins Middle School.Her professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association, and International Clarinet Association.
